Vera's Bark Copper Bracelet

There is a quiet steadiness to a string of beads that wraps around your wrist

I shaped each solid copper bead by hand, acid-etching the warm striped texture so they catch the light like the rugged bark of an old tree.

Men and women have worn copper against their skin for thousands of years, and there is something about the weight of these beads resting on your arm that just feels right.

This is one of the last beaded pieces I’ll make before I close my workshop. I hope it finds the right wrist.
