Vera's Bough Copper Bracelet

I made this one for the days you need to hold yourself together one steady twist wrapped around the next, nothing loose, nothing rushed.

Each cuff starts as a straight copper rod. I twist it by hand, section by section, until the whole band spirals tight and even the same motion my wrists have known for forty years.

Copper worn close to the skin is something people have trusted for thousands of years, long before anyone needed a reason to explain it. They just kept wearing it.
